Part II. Using Atrium's Search and Browse Features

(version 1.5)

This section shows the botanist or researcher how to use the search features of Atrium to find the set of collections of most interest. There are numerous ways to search the collections: by botanical family, working down through the taxonomic structure, by word or partial word, by habit, habitat etc. Where possible, drop-down lists have been provided so the user does not have to type in the name of the family, collector, habits, etc. If a particular taxonomic name cannot be found or if a non-name term is sought, there is a way to search all character fields for all collections: the "Quick Search Collections" in the banner. The following chapters cover each search mechanism in more detail.
