Fruit: Fruit a follice to 0.8 cm diameter, golden when mature, the valves falling when mature to expose a white woolly covering of the seed.

Infructescence: Infructescence terminal and axillary.

Seeds: One seed per fruit.

Other

Distribution: Mexico to Peru.

Notes: Very similar to the genus Iresine, differing technically only by the stamens.
