Morphological Description
Diagnosis: This species can be recognized by: whitish stems that lack chlorophyll, and spicate inflorescence with sessile, tubular, lavender to purple flowers. Represents a new species record for Madre de Dios, Peru, where it grows in small, clustered populations in Amazonian aguajal wetlands of the region.
