Locality Description: Centro de Investigaciones Jenaro Herrera, a 5 km E of rio Ucayali. 04 55' S, 73 45' W. "Chamisal" (dense poles, few exceeding 4-5 m) and "varillal" (similar but with occasional trees to 15 m tall).

Botanical Data
Plant Notes: Tree 12 m, calyx rufescent, corrolla white. Crushed leaves with odor of spearmint. Rare in varillal. Soil: a 25 cm litter/humus, overlying a 30 cm impermeable concretion, overlying sand.
