Locality Description: Smithsonian Botany Greenhouse acc. s.n.. Source: cutting received from Robert & Diane Stewart, Stow, Massachusetts. Cutting obtained by Stewart's from Jonathan Ertelt (Nashville, TN) in November 1988.

Botanical Data

Plant Notes: Stems subwoody; erect at base, then becoming horizontal to erect. Leaves succulent (more succulent than N. monanthus); abaxial surface red; adaxial surface green and shiny. Wild origin unknown, but probably from Brazil. Leaf material collected for molecular systematic studies.
