Botanical Data

Plant Notes: Scandent woody vine; growing on tree trunks via a single elongate stem, sometimes a clambering vine growing in patches of heavy vegetation. Fruits held horizontally when mature. Calyx lobes persistent in fruit with lobes oriented 3 dorsally and 2 ventrally. Fruit display-like with green valves and white seeds embedded in orange flesh (finiculi). Immature flower yellow, tubular, and erect. Nectary bilobed; on dorsal surface. Photographs of this collection are in the Gesneriaceae photo file (US)
