Cookie notice
This page lists every cookie Atrium uses, who sets it, what it is for and how long it lasts. It is generated from the same declaration the site uses to decide what it is allowed to set, so it cannot fall out of date while the code moves on.
Change your cookie preferences — you can do this at any time, and turning something off later works exactly like never having turned it on.
What we do by default
Until you choose otherwise, Atrium sets only the cookies marked strictly necessary below: no stored display preferences and no maps loaded from Google. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we treat that as a refusal and do not show you a banner at all.
There is no analytics on this site. Nothing counts your visits, measures which pages you read, or records where you came from. Google Analytics was removed in September 2026 and is not being replaced — and because the cookies it had already written would otherwise have sat in your browser for up to two years, Atrium now deletes them whenever it sees them.

Keeps you signed in, protects forms against cross-site request forgery, and remembers this choice about cookies. The site cannot work without them, so they are always on and no consent is asked for.

Preferences — currently off
Remembers display choices so they survive between pages: sort order, rows per page, interface language, whether empty taxa are listed, and the username on the login form.
Without these, sorting and paging still work but reset to the default on each new page, and the login form does not pre-fill your username.

Maps and embedded content — currently off
Loads interactive and static maps from Google Maps. Sends your IP address to Google and lets Google set its own cookies.
Declining replaces each map with a notice and a button that loads it on request.

Turning something off later
When you switch a category off, Atrium deletes the cookies in it that were
set by this site, on the spot. Cookies set on Google's own domains are a
different matter and we should be straight about it: we cannot reach into
another site's cookies to delete them. What we can do — and what we do
— is stop loading the thing that sets them, so no new ones appear. To
remove the ones already there, use your browser's settings for
google.com, or Google's own controls at
myadcenter.google.com.
What we do not do
Atrium does not use cookies for advertising, does not build advertising profiles, does not track you across other sites, and does not sell or share personal information. There is no analytics of any kind. The only thing that reaches a third party is a map tile request to Google, and only if you have said yes to it above.
Your privacy choices — California and other US states
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or another state with a comparable law, you have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising. Atrium does not sell or share personal information, does not run targeted advertising, and has no analytics — so there is nothing here to opt out of. You can still switch third-party embeds off from the cookie preferences page, and a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser is honoured as a refusal of everything that is not strictly necessary, without your having to ask.
Cookies are not the only thing here
This page covers cookies. It does not describe what Atrium stores in its database about registered users and their contributions, how long that is kept or how to ask for a copy or a deletion. Those questions are answered by the site’s privacy policy, which is the operator’s to publish — see Terms of Use.
