Botanical Data

Plant Notes: Stems erect and subwoody. Flowers in axillary clusters. Calyx lobes dark red. Corolla whitish-yellow and campanulate. Originally from the Selby Botanical Gardens (Sarasota, FL). Presumably collected in Costa Rica by Hans Wiehler (W-2902) during the early 1980's. Photographs of this collection are in the Gesneriaceae photo file (US). Leaf material collected for molecular systematic studies.

Local Name: Cultivar name: "Burgundy Red."
