Chapter V-2. Edit A Collection

(version 1.5)

To change the data for a collection, click "Edit this collection" on the Collection Data tab. The Edit Collection panel with the collection data opens where you can modify or add information. This panel looks very similar to the Create a New Collection panel as seen in Chapter V-1, Add a Collection and Specimen. The sections of the modification panel are shown below.

The top of the Edit Collection panel provides fields to enter the collection identification data. It appears that the collection number may be changed, but changes to this field are not saved.

The second section of the Edit Collection panel provides fields to describe the locality where it was collected.

The habitat section of the Edit Collection panel provides places to put the habitat and soil data. Here the habitat is set for the collection from the drop-down list provided. This habitat selection is used to include or exclude the selection from searches and a Collection List using filters.

The botanical section of the Edit Collection panel provides places to put the botanical data for the collection, including how tall and wide the source tree is, phenology stage and the local name for the plant. You may also select the habit from the drop-down list provided. This habit selection is used to include or exclude the selection from searches and a Collection List using filters.

The final section of the Edit Collection panel provides places to identify the collection to a research site and project, and select a basis of collection.

Once all the data changes have been made, click the "Edit Collection" button. To exit the panel without saving changes, click the "Cancel" button.
