Taxonomic lists: Click the down arrow to the right of the drop-down list you want to use to limit data reflected in the checklist. As you select a value, the taxon lists at the levels below are narrowed to values within the taxon selected. This takes a few moments, and a "Generating results. Please wait..." message is displayed until the newly refined taxon lists are ready. If there is a checklist below the search criteria, it is also narrowed to the taxon selected.

Collector, Country, Region, Habit, Habitat, Project and Research Site lists:  These drop-down lists contain all the values defined to the application when the panel is opened. However, if there is a checklist below the search criteria, only those values that appear in the collections making up that checklist are listed. Therefore, these fields can only be used to further limit the collection data on the checklist. When a value is selected from one of these drop-down lists, the checklist below is modified to reflect the value chosen.

Collector, Country, Region, Collection Date From and Collection Date To:  The country and region drop-down lists contain all the values defined to the application when the panel is opened. However, if there is a checklist below the search criteria, only those values that appear in the collections making up that checklist are listed. When a value is selected from one of these drop-down lists, the checklist below is modified to reflect the value chosen. When dates selected using the calendar controls, the checklist is further modified to include only data after the start date and/or before the end date, inclusive.

Habit, Habitat, Project and Research Site: These drop-down lists allow for more than one value to be selected by using the Ctrl key. Select the first value to be kept in the data, then hold down the Ctrl key while you click the other values you want to retain in the results. The removal of the collections with the unselected values occurs when the "Refresh List" button is clicked.

View: The results of the search criteria at the top of the panel are reflected in checklist below the search criteria. The level of detail in the checklist is controlled by the View control. The data can be viewed at family, genus or species levels.
