Vegetative Morphology
Habit: Small tree to ca. 5 m tall.
Main axis: Bark strong, fibrous.
Branch: Stems black when dry.
Leaves: Leaves simple, alternate, nearly sessile; the petioles terete, slender, to ca. 2 mm long, black when mature, glabrous; the lamina narrowly elliptic to weakly oblong-elliptic, to ca. 3.5 x 13 cm, drying light brown to olive-brown, coriaceous, glabrous, the base acute to decurrent on short petiole, the apex acuminate, the acumen to ca. 1.5 cm long, the margins entire; the secondary venation finely brochidodromous, the secondary veins anastomosing in single marginal vein and finely reticulate with tertiary venation.
Reproductive Morphology
Inflorescence: Inflorescence ramiflorous or axillary.
Flowers: Flowers 1-few per inflorescence, not seen in the study region.
Fruit: Fruit apocarpous consisting of few monocarps; the monocarps globose to ellipsoid, to ca. 1.5 cm diam., purple to purple-black when mature, smooth, glabrous, the base stipitate, the stipe to ca. 5 mm long, green.
Seeds: Seeds one per monocarp, ridged along edge.
