Vegetative Morphology
Habit: Lianas, shrubs, and trees.
Leaves: Leaves compound, unifoliate, trifoliate, pinnate, rarely bipinnate, always alternate; the rachis sometimes winged, in tree genera the leaflets alternate or subopposite, the pinnately compound leaf terminating in a small aborded bud arising from one side of the rachis.
Exudate: Latex present in some genera of lianas.
