Vegetative Morphology
Habit: Palms to 25 m tall. Solitary.

Leaves: Leaves pinnate, the pinnae divided into many segments and organized various planes. Rachis to 3 m long.
Reproductive Morphology
Fruit: Fruit subglobose, sessile, to 2.5 cm in diameter, yellow, splitting irregularly when mature, exposing the white, mealy mesocarp.
Infructescence: Infructescence to 1 m long. Calyx persistent.
Seeds: Seeds one or rarely two per fruit.
