Vegetative Morphology

Leaves: Leaves alternate, rarely opposite, very thin, with undulating border and inconspicuous pinnate venation, sometimes with glands on the lamina.

Reproductive Morphology

Fruit: Bracts covering the mature seed but not the persistent stigma. Fruit an achene, brown when mature.

Infructescence: Infructescence axillary.

Other

Distribution: United States, Mexico, Central America, and the Antilles, to Argentina.

Notes: The plant strongly aromatic and frequently growing in high rocky habitats.
