Vegetative Morphology

Habit: Ephemeral twig epiphytes producing fan-shaped growths.

Leaves: Leaves equitant, with imbricating bases.

Reproductive Morphology

Inflorescence: Inflorescences axillary, scapose, just surpassing the leaves, few-flowered in succession.

Flowers: Flowers yellow. Dorsal sepal and petals free, the lateral sepals shortly fused at the base. Lip three-lobed, the midlobe variously lobulate, with a prominent lobed callus. Column erect, with prominent wings; pollinia 2, sulcate, on a common stipe and minute viscidium.

Notes: Psygmorchis is a distinct genus of twig-epiphytes that was once included in a broadly defined Oncidium. Recently, based on molecular data, the genus has been submerged into Erycina ##, an otherwise Central American genus. A conservative treatment is accepted here.
