Vegetative Morphology
Habit: Small tree to 5 tall.
Main axis: Bark strong, fibrous.
Branch: Stems brown, striate when mature.
Leaves: Leaves simple, alternate; the petioles sub-terete, only weakly canaliculate, swollen at base, to 1 cm long, dark brown or black when mature, glabrous; the lamina narrowly elliptic, to ca. 6 x 22 cm, olive-green when dry, glaucous below when fresh, coriaceous, glabrous, the base rounded to broadly acute, the apex short-acuminate to acute, the margins entire; the secondary venation eucamptodromous, inconspicuous when fresh or dry.
