Vegetative Morphology
Habit: Tree to 30 m tall.
Main axis: Bark strong, fibrous.
Branch: Stems slender, tan to brown pubescent when young.
Leaves: Leaves simple, alternate, nearly sessile; the petioles terete, slender, to ca. 3 mm long, brown pubescent when young becoming glabrescent with age; the lamina elliptic to slightly lanceolate, to ca. 2.5 x 9 cm, light brown below when dry, glossy dark brown above, thin coriaceous, glabrous or glabrescent below toward petiole, the base acute to decurrent, the apex long-acuminate, the acumen to ca. 1 cm long, the margins entire; the midvein raised below and impressed above, the secondary and tertiary venation rather fine, inconspicuous, the secondary veins only slightly brochidodromous when visible, the tertiary veins rather invisible.
Reproductive Morphology
Inflorescence: Inflorescence axillary.
Flowers: Flowers one to several per inflorescence; sepals green; petals white, slightly sericeous.
Fruit: Fruit apocarpous consisting of few to numerous dehiscent monocarps; the monocarps elongate ellipsoid, to ca. 2 cm long, orange to red when mature, smooth, glabrous, the base stipitate, the stipe to 1.5 cm long.
Seeds: Seeds one to several per monocarp.
