Delta Taxonomic Language: The DELTA format (DEscription Language for TAxonomy) is a flexible method for encoding taxonomic descriptions for computer processing. It has been adopted by the International Taxonomic Databases Working Group (TDWG) as a standard for data exchange. DELTA-format data can be used to produce natural language descriptions, conventional or interactive keys, cladistic or phenetic classifications, and information retrieval systems. The DELTA site can be reached from the References tab of the Collection/Specimen display at the family, genus and species levels. International Plant Names Index (IPNI): The International Plant Names Index (IPNI) is a database of names and associated bibliographical details for all seed-baring plants, ferns and fern allies. International Plant Names Index can be reached from the References tab of the Collection/Specimen display at the family, genus and species levels. Missouri Botanical Garden: The Missouri Botanical Garden is one of America's oldest botanical gardens. The non-profit organization is home of w3Tropicos nomenclature and authority database for vascular plants and digital library. The Missouri Botanical Garden also hosts a Bryology (mosses) database of nomenclature and bibliography. The information in both repositories is made available to researchers through the Tropicos search engine.
