(version 1.5)
The following browser settings are provided, not as standards, but as possible settings at which the system works and looks as it should. Undoubtedly there are other possible settings which will provide an environment in which the system operates successfully. These settings are provided in case they may help you clear up presentation problems on your computer.
Settings in Internet Explorer: The examples in this document were captured from Internet Explorer and show how the application should look. If your panels look different, there may be one or two settings with different values. The following are the settings in effect when the screen shots were captured.
In the "View" menu on the Internet Explorer tool bar, the following settings are 'the usual': "Text Size" is set to Medium, "Encoding" is set to "Western European (ISO)". These settings keep the menu text in alignment with the highlighting as demonstrated here:
If other settings are in effect, the green highlighting of the navigation bar background does not coincide with the white lettering of the menu option selected.
There is another control in Internet Explorer that affects this correspondence of text to highlight on the Atrium navigation bars: the Zoom Level button at the bottom right of the Internet Explorer display. This should read 100%.
Use the down arrow to open the zoom menu and reset it to 100% if your navigation bars are not in sync between the highlight and the text and this control is not set at 100%.
Fonts: Select "Tools" from the Internet Explorer menu, then "Internet Options". On the "General" tab, in the "Appearance" section, click the "Fonts" button. Language script should be set to Latin based. (This is probably the default for a PC purchased in the US.)

Settings for Firefox: The following settings allow Atrium to look and perform its best. These are generally the default settings when the application is loaded in the United States. If Atrium on your computer looks substantially different from the examples in this document, you might want to check the settings to see if they are different on your PC.

Text size: select "View" from the Firefox menu, for "Text Size" you have your choice to make the font larger or smaller as needed, but the font setting closest to the examples is set by selecting the "Normal" setting.
Character encoding: if your characters do not appear "normal" try setting the character encoding to "Unicode (UTF-8)" by selecting "View" from the Firefox menu, selecting "Character Encoding" on the sub-menu and selecting "Unicode (UTF-8)" from the bottom half of the list. If "Unicode (UTF-8)" does not appear below the line on the "Character Encoding" sub-menu, select "More Encodings" from the "Character Encoding" sub-menu and look for "Unicode (UTF-8)".
