Habitat
Habitat Description: Open swamp habitat that seems to follow the path of an abandoned channel after avulsion. Impermeable clay layer and seeps are visible near the swamp. Swamp transitions into flooded "campina" habitat with abundant shrubs characteristic of drier cerrado.
Soil Description: Organic accumulation to about 60cm in center of swamp. Water depth to 1 meter where Mauritia occurs, but reduced to 10 -20 cm where Cyperacace dominates. Swamp transitions into flooded campina habitat with abundant shrubs characteristic of cerrado habitat.
