Locality Description: Cultivated plant growing at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Sarasota, Florida (SEL Accession number: 2003-0323-A). Origin: Costa Rica: San Jose.

Botanical Data

Plant Notes: Succulent terrestrial subshrub, 1-1.5 m tall. Stems quadrangular, slightly winged, green suffused with purple. Leaves rugose; adaxially dark green; abaxially purple. Calyx and bracts purple. Corolla campanulate; uniformly white; lower lobe fimbriate. Leaf material collected for molecular systematic studies.
