Locality Description: Parroquia: Zurmi. Comunidad Centro Shaime (along Río Nangaritza). Forest 2-4 km NW of Centro Shaime. Forest on limestone outcrop (i.e., presence of sinkholes, rocks, and caves).

Habitat Description: Evergreen wet forest.

Botanical Data

Plant Notes: Woody vine. Abaxial leaf surface red. Inflorescence pendent and axillary. Bracts wine-red. Calyx lobes wine-red. Immature fruit red and cone-shaped. Mature fruit a fleshy dehiscent bivalved capsule. Corolla mostly yellow; 2 dorsal-most lobes red. Poricidal anthers present. NOTE: Clark #6461 differs from Clark #6492 by the following: lack of slime, corolla color, and placement of inflorescence relative to leaves).
