Leaves: Leaves linear, very thin, nearly transparent when dry, with conspicuously parallel veins.

Fruit: Fruit a trivalvate capsule, to 1.5 cm in diameter, orange at maturity.

Infructescence: Infructescence emerging from the subterranean bulb, developing on a long peduncle.

Seeds: Seeds 1-5 per fruit, the endocarp metallic black and fragile.
