What is it? Do I want one, or more?

Personal workspaces allow you to copy images, collection data and bibliographic information to a separate entity that is only available to you. Using a workspace, you can collect multiple images and collections from many different taxa or search criteria into one workspace which then contains all the information for an area of interest not defined within the system. Such a grouping of information can cross project, research site or geopolitical boundaries. The compiled information can then be exported into a spreadsheet or field guide format. Workspaces can be used to permanently correlate collections and images together in ways the available search terms like project and research site do not allow. The workspace also allows you to identify bibliographic information that applies to the included data more precisely by adding to or deleting from the lists returned by standard searches. In a more temporary mode, workspaces allow you to pull disparate information together to explore the possibilities of correlations not previously examined. Workspaces are easily deleted if the data grouping proves not worth keeping.
