Habitat Description: Vereda forming headwaters of igarape. Canopy dominant is Mauritia flexuosa. Seepages along topographic depression maintain substrate saturated year around. Water level flucuation relatively stable (< 1.5m) where Mauritia flexuosa dominates. Canal of igarapé begins here. Water flowing in some areas.
Soil Description: Saturated organic soils. Peats to approximately 2m. Canals with sand or clay.

Plant Notes: Tree. Bark with long fissures, not strong. Slash with pleasant smell. Leaves with pair of glands. Sterile.
