Locality Description: Basin of rio Ucayali, Centro de Investigaciones Jenaro Herrera, north of Arboretum, terra firme moist forest, slightly disturbed, 04º 55' S, 73º 45' W.
Botanical Data
Plant Notes: Trunked palm 12 m, with short (to 50 cm) spiny stilt roots. Leaves 4-5 m long, leaf sheath a 1.5 m long. Aprox. 23 pairs of pinnae per leaf. Three pistillate inflorescences present, also 2 old staminate ones all 50-150 cm below most recent leaf sheaths.
