Habitat Description: Canopy dominated by Maurtia flexuosa, understory dominated by Zygia sp.. Local depression aseasonally flooded by rains.

Soil Description: Soils gleysols, greyish and clayey. Little or no organic accumulation in upper horizon.

Botanical Data

Plant Notes: Tree. Fruits in axilary fasicles. Mature fruit yellow, rough surface. Probably splits into three sections. Numerous seeds embedded in gelatinous pulp. Fruits with ants!. Petiole thick, black and groved. Twig irregularly angled.
