Five new species of the genus Metrichia from Peru are described, diagnosed and figured: M. pakitza, M. diosa, M. madre, M. adamsae, and M. helenae. Full generic status for Metrichia is accepted, the 58 described species are listed with their authors, date of publication and known distribution, and a bibliography presented for the papers in which the species were described or new country records given.
